synopsis
In ‘Beautiful Things’ a plucky, lonely prostitute Ramdulari, and trepid housewife Sushila, her solitary female customer – two women in love, acutely aware of the unhappy endings that stories like theirs have in a world where men make all the rules – journey through all the points of heartbreaking departure that social conditioning, authority, intolerance, desperation, duty, hunger, guilt, fear wrought on them, until they finally uncover that single point of arrival in each other’s hearts.
